Dear AP Test-Taker,
A few things to keep in mind for tomorrow.
1) You're awesome! You've worked hard! You've got this!
2) Don't leave essays blank, even if you find the prompt to be difficult! Remember you get a point for writing a thesis and on the essays, every point counts!
3) Answer every part of the short-answer questions unless the directions tell you otherwise. (As in, answer questions 1, 2, 3, and 4 and parts a, b, and c of each question). When writing your answers, make sure you put your answer for question 1 on the page that says question 1, etc.
4) You're awesome! (So true it bears repeating.)
Love,
Mr. Cloward
P.S. Just a reminder, essay formats are as follows -
Format for the DBQ:
1st Paragraph: Contextualization (2+ sentences of background info) & Thesis
2nd - 4th Paragraphs: Key Point, Documents, Analysis of documents (POV, author's purpose, context, or audience), additional evidence (once in the essay)
5th Paragraph: Brief conclusion & Synthesis (2+ sentences connecting to another place or time)
Format for the LEQ:
1st Paragraph: Thesis
2nd - 4th Paragraphs: Key point followed by specific examples, which you explain. Be sure to do whatever the prompt asks you to do (explain causes/effects, compare & contrast, analyze before and after a turning point, describe continuities and changes, etc.)
5th Paragraph: Brief conclusion & Synthesis (2+ sentences connecting to another place or time)
